Abstract

1341452 Treating pigments NATIONAL AERONAUTICS & SPACE ADMINISTRATION 20 Oct 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 48755/71 Heading C1A A pigment is coated with two substances each containing the same element but in a different oxidation state. The pigment may be ZnO, TiO 2 , Ta 2 O 5 , Zn 2 TiO 5 , or AlP. The substances may be K 4 Fe(CN) 6 and K 3 Fe(CN) 6 , MnO- 4 and MnO 4 <SP>2-</SP> (preferably as K salts), or Ag<SP>+</SP> and Ag<SP>++</SP>. The pigment may be treated by mixing it with an aqueous solution of the substances. then filtering, and drying at 100-140‹ C.
