Abstract

1340967 Balers FARMHAND (UK) Ltd and R C BILBOROUGH 30 Nov 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 49213/71 Heading B5F [Also in Division B8] A device for turning bales of straw or hay of oblong cross-section, through 90 degrees about an axis longitudinal of its direction of travel, comprises a shoot structure 3 having an inclined ramp 14 along one side and an arm 18 extending over the shoot, the appropriate leading lower corner of a bale riding up the ramp 14 during conveyance along the shoot and the diagonally opposite corner portion of the bale engaging the arm 18, to turn the bale. The angle of the ramp 14 and the position of a side wall 6 of the shoot, are adjustable to facilitate handling of different sized bales.
