Abstract

1340880 Turnstiles TILTMAN LANGLEY Ltd 1 Sept 1971 [3 Sept 1970] 42262/70 Heading E1J [Also in Division F2] A pawl controlled mechanism, e.g. a turnstile, comprises a series of teeth 2 or abutments which are engageable by a pawl 5 which is reversible in its operative sense of direction. The series of teeth or abutments is interrupted by one or more gaps 4 to provide for pawl reversal. The pawl is urged towards a neutral position by a resilient means 12B and held from the neutral position by a second resilient means 10 which biasses the pawl in one sense or the other of its operational directions. The second resilient means may comprise a leaf spring made of a resilient synthetic plastics material having high internal clamping.
