Abstract

1340648 Suction cleaners GENERAL SIGNAL CORP 1 Sept 1972 [3 Sept 1971] 40687/72 Heading A4F A suction cleaner nozzle has an elongated housing 12, 16 formed with non-apertured tines 22 for raking the pile of a rug being cleaned, and hollow open ended tines 24 slightly shorter than the tines 22. Suction air is drawn through the hollow tines 24 and also through openings 18 in sleeves 56 located between adjacent hollow tines 24, to remove dust adjacent the rug backing and the rug surface respecitvely. The sleeves 56 may be omitted, the openings 18 then being formed in the lower housing wall 42.
