Abstract

1339129 Road vehicle lighting system JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 19 April 1971 [28 Feb 1970] 9795/70 Heading G1A [Also in Division F4] A lighting system for a road vehicle includes a light projector and a light detector housed in a common casing having a vent in one of its walls allowing air to pass in and out of the casing. A filter member is positioned in the vent to minimize the ingress of foreign matter into the casing. An embodiment is described of the kind wherein a shutter assembly moves to cut off the projected head-lamp beam in response to signals from a photo-sensitive element due to light from an on-coming vehicle striking the photo-sensitive element.
