Abstract

1338791 Electrolytic treatment of surfaces CENTRE STEPHANOIS DE RECHERCHES MECANIQUES HYDROMECANIQUE ET FROTTEMENT 24 June 1971 [26 June 1970 4 Feb 1971] 29692/71 Heading C7B Metallic surfaces are treated electrolytically to improve their resistance to wear and seizure as anode in an aqueous bath containing alkali metal sulphide, thiocyanate or iodide. A coating thus forms on the surface, e.g. iron sulphide/ sodium sulphide when treating an iron surface. A heat-treatment may follow to diffuse these compounds into the surface.
