Abstract

1338626 Rocket magazine nose ENGINS MATRA 6 Dec 1971 [7 Dec 1970] 56551/71 Heading F3C A nose 10 for a rocket magazine 11 comprises a metallic cast body 16 having a hole 29 through which a rocket can pass and a cover 25 which covers the hole 29 and which can be broken by a rocket, the body 16, which may be of light alloy, also having a tapered part 24, a cylindrical part 17 and a sleeve part 18 which terminates at the hole 29 and at an inner recessed end 19. The bore 23 of the sleeve part 18 is tapered and " receives a tubular attachment 31 therein. The latter, along with the cover 25, is made of synthetic plastics material, has an external surface 32 which is complementary to the bore 23 of the sleeve part 18, and has a cylindrical bore 33. The sleeve part 18 is connected to the magazine 11 via a tube 12, an end 13 of which is received in the recessed end 19 of the sleeve part 18. The thickness of the cover 25 increases towards the end of the nose 10.
