Abstract

1338282 Reciprocating fluid motors PARKER-HANNIFIN CORP 3 Nov 1971 [4 Dec 1970] 51121/71 Heading F1A [Also in Division H1] In an electric switch assembly 21 for use on the end of a fluid motor 1, to control a solenoid operated reversing valve (4) Fig. 1 (not shown) a chamfered plunger 11 on the end of the piston 8 actuates a micro-switch 5 through a ball 18 engaging the enlarged head 25 of an actuating rod 27. A leakage passage 29 is provided in a collar 17 supporting the ball 18, and the bore 15 for the head 25 has a large clearance whereby the ball 18 and head 25 move freely in the surrounding fluid. The return spring 26 is required only to be stiff enough to provide the restoring force against high fluid pressure acting over the area of the small diameter actuating rod 27 which may have an enlarged plastic cap 30 for engagement with the actuator 23 of the switch 5.
