1337944 Portable electric tools ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 Sept 1972 44576/72 Headings B3C and B3N An electric hand tool has a motor housing 1, a gear housing 4, an electric motor 6 with a drive shaft 9 with gear-wheels 12 and 13, a tool spindle 16, two gear-wheels 25, 26 arranged thereon and meshing with the gear-wheels 12 and 13 and means for selectively connecting selectively one of the gear-wheels 25, 26 on the tool spindle with the tool spindle to transmit drive thereto. Drive shaft 9 has its free end journalled in the gear housing and forms a third bearing with radial clearance relative to the bearing bore of the journal. The tool in Fig. 1 has driving pins 24 transversely of the tool spindle. The gear-wheels 25, 26 have two opposite grooves 27 and enlarged cut-outs at each end. These gear-wheels can be axially moved by handle 9 and U-shaped plastics member 28 so that one of the gear-wheels can be selectively drivingly coupled with the tool spindle. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 the gear-wheels 125, 126 are axially located. Clutch discs 154, 155 are axially movable to selectively engage one of the gear-wheels by clutch cones 155. The clutch discs are drivingly connected to the tool spindle and the clutch cones on the two discs have differing apex angles.
