Abstract

1337129 Reducing pore obstruction in zeolites MOBIL OIL CORP 15 Dec 1970 [18 Dec 1969] 59498/70 Heading C1A Crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites having a SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 mole ratio > 6 and free of pore obstruction by SiO 2 are prepared by crystallizing the zeolite from a reaction mixture containing a soln. of an alkali metal or NH 4 salt (other than aluminate or silicate) present in an amount surplus to that required to form the zeolite. The salt may be NaCl or Na 2 SO 4 . The salt may be introduced into the reaction mixture prior to gel formation via one of the forming solns., or into the mother liquor i.p.o. cogelled SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 mixture prior to crystallization.
