Abstract
1337095 Ignition system for I. C. rammer DELMAG-VERWALTUNGS GmbH [trading as DELMAG-MASCHINENFABRIK REINHOLD DORNFELD] 29 Feb 1972 [9 March 1971 26 Jan 1972] 9295/72 Heading F1B [Also in Division B4] An internal combustion rammer has an ignition system including a Piezo-electric element 58 actuatable by pressure between members 34 and 72. Raising handle 28 containing the Piezoelectric element brings striker pin 55 into contact with the member 34, causing an electrical pulse to pass from the element via cable 76 to a sparking plug (not shown) in the rammer. The circuit is completed by member 72, sleeves 52 and 30 and arm 24 which are of metal. The sleeves 32 and 50, body 64 and guide bushing 51 are plastics. Guide bushing 51, striker pin 55 and spring 57 may be omitted, Fig 2 (not shown). The Piezo-electric element may be located in a bracket (200) Figs.4 and 6 (not shown) rigid with the rammer or in a sleeve (104) on a lever (100) pivoted to the rammer, Fig. 3 (not shown). The rammer, shown in Fig. 1 comprises a holding stirrup 10 above a tank 12 above cylinder head 14. A piston is reciprocable within unit 18 and is attached to a ram plate 20. The handle 28, which contains the Piezo-electric element, may extend vertically downwardly or upwardly or obliquely downwardly, Figs. 1a and 1b (not shown).
