Abstract

1336195 Aqueous emulsions of alkyl hydrogen polysiloxanes stabilized by amino acids RHONEPOULENC SA 19 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 53877/71 Heading C3T [Also in Division D1] Aqueous emulsions of alkyl hydrogen polysiloxanes are stabilized by the presence of one or more aminoacids of the formula or an acid addition salt thereof, wherein R is an alkylene radical and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are each a hydroxyalkyl, hydroxycarbonylalkyl or radical, wherein R<SP>111</SP> and R<SP>1111</SP> are alkylene radicals, and R<SP>11</SP> may also be H or an alkyl or alkenyl radical. In Examples 1-8 to a 40% aqueous emulsion of Me 3 SiO(MeHSiO) 25 SiMe 3 , using dimethyl dodecyl benzyl ammonium chloride emulsifier is added nothing, or relative to the polysiloxane. Baths containing 100 gm. of each of these emulsions and 10 gm. of catalyst emulsion containing 18À2 wt. per cent zinc octoate, 15 wt. per cent toluene, 4 wt. per cent dibutyltin diacetate, polyvinyl alcohol 1À875 wt. per cent and 0À0125 wt. per cent sodium lauryl sulphate, are used to impregnate a cotton fabric.
