Abstract

1335702 Tube connectars H R DAVIES 12 May 1971 [4 June 1970] 26935/70 Heading E2B A connector for connecting together a pair of tubes in axially aligned relationship comprises an elongated body divided longitudinally into two separate tube-engaging parts 10, 11 and arranged so that the opposite end portions of said body are, in use, inserted respectively into the adjacent end portions of the two tubes, there being also provided a collar 12 which surrounds said body intermediate the ends thereof and which is prevented from axial movement relative to the body, and a screwed member 13 which extends transversely of the axis of the body through a plain aperture 14 formed in the collar and through a screwed aperture 15 formed in one of the part 11, said screwed member either engaging the part 10 at one of its ends or having an abutment which engages that part whereby rotation of said screwed member in one angular direction will, in use, result in said to body parts being urged away from each other. As shown, the screwed member has an abutment 17 which engages the part 10 and the outer end section 16 of the member is of reduced diameter except for a head 20 which prevents removal of the screwed member from the body part; in a modification the head is omitted.
