Abstract

1334573 Friction clutches BRITISH LEYLAND (AUSTIN-MORRIS) Ltd 30 March 1972 [16 Jan 1971] 2234/71 Headings F2C and F2L A motor vehicle friction clutch and a release mechanism therefore is arranged between a driving engine 14 and a flywheel 11 fast with the engine crank-shaft 12. A driven clutch plate 16 which is normally clamped between the flywheel 11 and a presser plate 23 by a diaphragm spring 21 is splined to a sleeve 18 carrying an output pinion 19. An axially slidable clutch release thrust bearing 25 acts on the inner periphery of the diaphragm spring 21 and is actuated by a release lever 30 pivoted on a stud 31 fast with the engine block 14.
