Abstract

1333480 Scraper bowls CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 20 Dec 1971 59071/71 Heading E1F A protective bit 16 for the lower forward portion of a side wall 10 of the bowl of anearth scraper comprises a hardened member having an earth-engaging edge and a bifurcated edge to embrace the part of the side wall to which the bit is fastened by fastening means extending through registering openings in the bit and the bowl when the bit is operationally positioned on the bowl. Preferably the main part of the bit has substantially the same thickness as the bowl side and the fastening means are pins 20 and spring lock rings. The bit may be formed by two interchangeable parts.
