Abstract

1332857 Folding tables; folding beds ENTRYOWN PATENTS Ltd 3 March 1972 [17 May 1971] 15357/71 Headings A4H A4J A folding table or bed has on each side a pair of legs 4 pivoted at 10, 9 to the halves 1 and to beams 5 and a pair of legs 3 pivoted at 7, 6 to the halves 1 and beams 5, beams 5 on each half and/ or the halves 1 being coupled by a pair of meshing gear wheels 12 so that when one end is lifted the other end is constrained to lift with a motion of equal magnitude and opposite sense and legs 4 move towards one another on wheels, slides, etc. 17, which may be retractible. The structure may be locked in the open or folded position by a latch, a chain connecting respective pairs of beams 5, or by a diagonal strut (18). Fig. 4, (not shown) or (24), (27), Fig. 5, (not shown). In a modification Figs. 5 - 7, (not shown) each half is supported by a pair of legs (20) joined by a crossbar and a single beam (5') which may be pivotally mounted on the cross-bar. Wheels 12 may be replaced by any means disclosed in Specification 903,116 (see Div F2).
