Abstract
1332565 Racks PLESSEY CO Ltd 24 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 11851/71 Heading H1R A printed circuit board 20 is guided by channels 21 into an edge connector 13 which has contacts (18, Fig 3, not shown) located in cavities (17). To ensure accurate position of the board 20 relative to the contacts, the channels 21 have at their ends tongues 25 which fit into, and are located by, vacant contact cavities (17). A plurality of connectors 13 is clamped by strips 14 to girders 12 or may merely be supported by the channels 21 or by a mother board. The front ends of the guide channels 21 are fixed by snapping forked projections 26 into holes in girders 11. Connection to tails 16 of the contacts is made by wiring or by the mother board. Where two narrow boards are to be mounted instead of a single wide board, a double-sided channel (121, Fig. 4, not shown) is fitted at an intermediate point on the connector 13. Alternatively a double-sided channel (221, Fig. 5, not shown) has two tongues (225) fitted into cavities in two aligned edge connectors.
