Abstract

1331825 Two-part couplings SIEMENS AG 30 Nov 1971 [15 July 1971] 55557/71 Heading H2E An electrical contact arrangement comprising electrically conductive contact springs, housed in an insulating housing 6, provides break contacts 10 which open only after engagement of plug 7 and thereby avoids interference in the circuit of which the break contacts form a part. Plug 7, including two electrically conductive strips 8, 9 engages mutually-independentlyoperable leaves 2 and 3, of the contact strips 11 which, respectively with leaves 4 and 1, are alternately provided with mutually different degrees of preset. On continued entry of plug 7 into slot 18, leaves 2 and 3 are moved apart, but are followed by their respective contact members by reason of the resilience thereof, and a rubbing action takes place on the active surfaces of the arcuately shaped portions 10. When plug 7 is sufficiently inserted to open contact spring leaves 1 and 3, contacts 10 are broken and the circuit is connected through plug 7.
