Abstract

1331567 Lined cartons; packaging in cartons JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd 20 July 1972 [24 July 1971] 34837/71 Headings B8C and B8P A packaging container is formed from an outer blank case 10 and a sheet of flexible lining material 36 which is secured to the blank case so that folding of the blank case to skillet form with edges of the blank ease overlapping also folds the lining material to skillet form with its edges overlapping. The overlapping glue flap 26 and panel 12 of the blank ease are glued together and the overlapping edges of the lining material 36 are glued or heat sealed together. The ends of the container are closed by folding inwardly the triangular flaps 12A, 16A, pressing together the sections 14C, 18C of the end flaps, 14A, 18A, trapping the lining material therebetween and heat sealing the ends of the lining material, and folding over the sections 14C, 18C and 14D as shown in Fig. 6, the section 14D being glued to the carton side 18. The container may be opened by means of a tear strip 54 in the side 18 and the lining bag removed. The lining material is adhered to the blank case 10 at areas 38 and is released from the carton normally, or by the application of heat when a heat release adhesive is used. The latter operation may take place as the sections 14C and 18C are pressed together by heated rollers.
