1330217 Absorption refrigeration system ELECTROLUX Ltd 4 Oct 1971 [8 Oct 1970 (2)] 45997/71 Heading F4H In an absorption refrigeration system, a U-shaped connecting conduit is located in the system between the vapour space 31 and the evaporator 24, 26, such that in operation automatic defrosting is achieved. The vapour space 31 is separated from the inert gas circulation system by two liquid seals, one constituted by the analyser 18 and the other by liquid present in the U-shaped conduit 32, 33, 34. With the features of the system positioned such that a first height between (i) the connection 36 to the vapour space and (ii) the bottom 33 of the U-shaped part is greater than a second height between (i) the liquid level II in the absorbed vessel 10 and (ii) the level I of the analyser 18 of a connection thereto with the vapour space; and also leg 34 extends higher than leg 32 a height which is not less than the said second height, then in operation, a thermostat 14<SP>11</SP> will cut off the supply to the generator 14, causing an equalization of pressure in the system which forces the liquid in the U-shaped conduit to be forced into the boiler system 19 and hot gas into the evaporator 24, 26.
