Abstract

1330137 Ice rink W MANDLMAIER and E W GOHL [trading as E W GOHL KG] and H AUER and S KUEBLER [trading as KUEBLER & CO] 23 Oct 1970 [24 Oct 1969] 50568/ 70 Heading A6D An ice rink can be constructed using one or several of the units shown in Fig. 1. The unit comprises a support for the ice which consist of thin walled slabs 12 preferably of asbestos cement and sealed to one another by silicone rubber. The support is held about 20-80 cm above ground level by support pillars 11, which also extend into the ground below the depth to which the ground is frozen. Side walls 14 enclosed a space 13 between the ground 10 and the slabs 12, and an opening (14a) in the front wall, houses a refrigerator 16. A circulating blower 18 of the refrigerator 16 is located in the hollow space 13, which circulates cold air in the space.
