Abstract

1329577 Lampholders JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 19 April 1971 [2 May 1970] 21204/70 Heading H2E A bulb holder comprises an insulating body 11 with a bore closed at one end and two contacts 21, 26 each resiliently engaged in the body and adapted to receive a conductive lead with the contact 26 including a portion arranged to receive a bulb. The moulded resin body 11 has its bore 12 enlarged near its open end to form a shoulder 14 and has a second shoulder 15 on the exterior surface near its closed end, a pair of slots 16, 17 in the enlarged bore portion, a channel (17a) extending from the slot 17 to the shoulder 15 and a recess 18 adjacent the closed end which communicates with the bore 12 via an aperture 19. A first resilient contact 21 has two limbs 22, 24 and is snap-engaged with the body about the recess 18 and aperture 19, being retained therein by tangs 25. A second resilient contact 26 comprises a limb 29 which has an aperture formed with a single convolution of screw thread in which the screw-threaded bulb is engaged and another limb 27, the contact 26 snap-engaging with the body such that the limb 29 is retained in the slots 16, 17 and enlarged bore and the limb 27 in the channel (17a). Two pairs of tabs on each contact are deformed to connect electrically and physically respective leads 23, 28.
