Abstract

1329188 Electrophotography EASTMAN KODAK CO 19 April 1971 [2 April 1970] 25916/71 Heading G2H An electrostatic charge image is transferred from a photo-conductive surface to an insulative surface, each surface having a Sheffield smoothness value of 0-25, in the presence of an intermediate layer of a paraffinic hydrocarbon liquid having a volume resistivity of at least 10<SP>12</SP> ohm-cm and in the absence of pressure or electrical bias potential. The layer may have a thickness of 1-5 microns. The liquid may have a bp of 105-260‹C, be applied to either surface first and be allowed to dry partially or be subjected to a squeeging action before contact with the second surface.
