Abstract

1328651 Speed governor ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 30 Oct 1970 [31 Oct 1969] 51628/70 Heading G3B A centrifugal governor for an internal combustion engine fitted with a fuel injection system comprises a fuel control rod 32 urged to the left (starting position) by a spring 35 via a fulcrum lever 22 pivoted at 26, a tensioning lever 37 carrying a pair of stops 49, 51, and a rocker lever 27 pivotally mounted on the fulcrum lever 22 at 28 and urged by a spring 29 to contact a sleeve 15 via a roller 21. The sleeve 15 moves to the right with increasing rotational speed of the shaft 10 until one of the stop-engaging surfaces 53, 57 contacts a respective stop. The stops are adjustable to give the following fuel/speed characteristics: (a) delivery quantity increasing with increasing engine speed. The stop 49 comes into contact with the face 53 after a distance "C" covered by the sleeve 15, thereafter the spring 56 is compressed as the fulcrum lever 22 pivots on the stop 49. (b) delivery quantity decreasing with increasing engine speed. The stop 49 is reset so that it has no effect . (c) delivery quantity first decreasing and then increasing with increasing speed. In the embodiment of Fig.2 (not shown) the governor may be set so that the delivery quantity first increases and then decreases with increasing engine speed. The embodiment of Fig.3 (not shown) can achieve any of the aforementioned adaptations.
