Abstract

1325844 Workpiece transferring WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT "7 OKTOBER" BERLIN VEB 25 Jan 1972 3509/72 Heading B3B A gripper arrangement in a workpiece transfer device for gripping an transferring rotationally symmetrical workpieces before and after machining includes a drive mechanism for operating two gripper jaws 2, 3, one gripper jaw 3 having a plane clamping face 4, the other jaw 2 having centring faces 6, 7 arranged in a V-shaped formation. The transmission of the drive is so designed that jaw 2 moves towards a workpiece 5 at a speed times faster than the speed of jaw 3 towards the workpiece, where # is the angle subtended between jaw faces 6, 7. The drive mechanism may comprise cam or lever transmissions or a push rod 13 having racks 14 which rotate pinions 15, 16 for driving sliding gripper feet 8 and 9.
