Abstract
1325443 Making burners; stamping; forging DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 8 July 1970 [11 July 1969 (2) 26 Feb 1970 (3) 13 May 1970 26 May 1970] 34934/70 349361/69 9209/70 9211/70 9212/70 23071/70 and 25107/70 Headings B3A B3H and B3Q [Also in Division F4] To form a burner element for use with liquid or gaseous fuel and comprising two sheet metal members 1, 2 defining a fuel supply gallery between them, the sheets having interfitting tubular projections 7, 8 defining air passages 6, projections 8 having axial grooves 9 defining openings for the egress of fuel from the gallery, the projections 7, 8 are shaped using a punch 10, a punch 13, and a punch 15 as shown in Figs. 5-7. A. serrated punch 17 is subsequently used as in Fig. 8 to form the grooves 9 in projection 8. The sheets 1 and 2 are then interfitted and sealed about their edges. Spacing dimples may also be punched in the sheets 1 and 2, the dimples in one sheet being swaged to those in the other to provide through passages for combustion air. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,183,759.
