Abstract

1324447 Electromagnetic induction flowmeters BAILEY METER CO 1 Oct 1971 [5 Oct 1970] 45883/71 Heading G1N In an electromagnetic induction flowmeter having saddle coils symmetrically arranged with respect to the electrode axis 12-14, the coils have a turns density distribution which is a cosine function of the angle α from the electrode axis, and the cross-sectional area of the individual turns varies inversely proportionally to the turns density, thereby reducing the overall resistance of the coils and achieving better heat dissipation per unit of field intensity. A soft iron sleeve 23 or a stack of laminations (46) surrounds the coils.
