Abstract

1324091 Push button switches JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 22 Dec 1970 [16 Jan 1970] 2181/70 Heading H1N Two push-on push-off switches mounted in a common casing 11 are interlocked whereby one push button 13 can only be moved to its on position after the other 14 and the other push button 14 cannot be moved to the off position until after the said one push button 13. A flexible arm 19 projects into the space between the two push buttons 13, 14 and has an enlarged head 20 co-operating with profiles on the two buttons. In the off position shown projection 23 on button 14 deflects the head 20 into engagement with a stop 21 on button 13 which therefore cannot be depressed. After button 14 is depressed the head 20 returns to a central position. When button 13 is then depressed a surface 22 thereon deflects the head 20 into a recess 24 in button 14 which cannot then be released. Each push button carries a resiliently mounted contact bridge 15 co-operating with contacts on a printed circuit board 12. Each push button also carries an insert 29 formed with a track 31 co-operating with a pin 28 to provide the pushon push-off action.
