Rollers 2, 3 and 4 are made of materials having substantially the same coefficient of thermal expansion and behave substantially identically in respect of thermal expansion. Sealing plates 6 are pro. vided at each end of the roller arrangement. The embossed material is drawn off the embossing cylinder by a roller 15.
