Abstract

1322762 Discharging ladles and tundishes USS ENGS & CONSULTANTS Inc 18 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 10877/73 Divided out of 1322761 Heading F4B [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for discharging a ladle or tundish in which a succession of gates 24, 25 are pushed past a bottom pour opening 14 on rails 18 by apparatus disclosed in Specification 1,322,761 each gate 24 incoporates an extended pouring nozzle 26. The rails 18, which have upper and lower inwardly extending flanges 20 and 21 are mounted opposite one another on a plate 17 which with a sub-mounting plate 15 is attached to the vessel by bolts 16. The upper flanges 20 support a refractory plate 22 and the lower flanges 21 the sliding gates, gates 25 being blanks.
