1321426 Warp knitting-machines W REINERS VERWALTUNGS GmbH 22 July 1970 [26 July 1969] 35530/70 Heading D1C In a warp knitting machine weft threads for incorporation into the fabric are fed to the needles by a store 800, supplied with threads by a rotating arm 900 carrying several guide means 901-908. The guide means receive thread from a change mechanism 917. The arm 900 is driven by a chain 12 from a drive shaft 14, and carries rods 913, 914 at its ends supporting the guide means 901-908. A chain 912 engaging wheels 910, 911 on the rods, and a stationary wheel 909, rotates the rods to ensure that the guides maintain a set orientation. The guide means consist of spring grippers, see Figure 10, which can be opened to seize a yarn lugs 913c on a slide controlled by a pattern cam 923. The threads are presented to each gripper by a change mechanism comprising a pivoted or slidable lever 917a having several thread apertures, and moved by a pattern cam 922. The threads are placed, by the rotating arm 900 on the top of wheels 801, 802, or chains, at either side of the needle bed. They are held there between the teeth of adjacent wheels, or by mechanical or pneumatic grippers. As the wheels rotate the threads are carried to the needle line, and removed by a pair of inserting levers 701. The needle bed 21 is reciprocated by a cam follower lever 20; and has a drag lever 25 pivoted to its lower end.
