Abstract

1321123 Rotational casting S PIVAR 26 Aug 1970 41148/70 Heading B5A A thermoplastic article is formed by rotational casting about two mutually perpenidcular axes, one of which is substantially horizontal and the other moves in a plane perpendicular thereto while heating from a source beneath and parallel to said one axis and extends longitudinally thereof. As shown in Fig. 1, a framework comprises bars 5, 6 on which are adjustably secured bars 10, 16, the frame being rotated from motor 23 on axle 3 journalled at 2, 8 to base 1. The moulds 12 are mounted on brackets 13 by pins 17 of clamps 14 on bar 16 and at the other end by drive brackets 18 and pins 19. The moulds are also rotated about their longitudinal axes by motor 24 through shaft 21, telescopic shaft 21a/ 22 and angle drive mechanisms 20a, 20b, 20c. A heater or burner 25 is spaced from the fixed axes, i.e. axle 3 and is adjustable in height by members 26a, 26b.
