Abstract

1320426 Apparatus for dropwise reactions PFIZER Inc 1 Nov 1971 [6 July 1971] 50743/ 71 Heading B1X A method of simultaneously testing the reaction of a number of solutions with a reactive substrate comprises the steps of placing a number of drops of said solution 1 in a holder thereby suspending portions of said drops vertically below said holder, disposing said reactive substrate upon a lower plate, moving said holder closely adjacent said lower plate whereby said drops simultaneously contact said reactive substrate to simultaneously commence reactions between said solutions and said reactive substrate, and separating said holder from said lower plate whereby portions of said drops transfer to said reactive substrate for completing said reactions. The holder may be a plate 12 with holes 32 containing drops 36 of solution; as shown, the plate is vertically slidable on rods 18 so as to approach plate 14 bearing reactive substrate 38 which may be a continuous length of film.
