Abstract

1320104 Hepta- and octa-peptides NORWICH PHARMACAL CO 20 May 1971 16116/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Compounds (I) (which counteract hypertension due to angiotensin amide) (where R is H, succinyl, L-aspartyl, sarcosyl, L-seryl, succinamyl, L-protyl, glycyl, D- or L- asparaginyl; R 1 is an L-alanine, L- or D-leucine, glycine, L-isoleucine or beta-alanine residue and R 2 is L-valyl, L-isoleucyl or L-alanyl) are prepared in known manner for synthesizing peptides, especially by the Merrifield method using a chloromethylated styrene-divinyl copolymer as carrier. His(N<SP>im</SP>Bzl)-Pro-Ala OH 2HBr is prepared as an intermediate after removal of the polymer carrier.
