1319528 Tumour-inhibiting substance STIFTUNG ONOPHRIO 28 Aug 1970 [28 Aug 1969] 41485/70 Heading A5B A substance having tumour-inhibiting properties is obtained by incubating a homogenate of a tumour with a homogenate of the spleen of the person having the tumour, acidifying the incubated homogenate and optionally adding a lower (water-miscible) monohydric alcohol, filtering; adjusting the pH of the filtrate to about pH 7.5, removing the precipitate, adjusting the pH to about 2.5, removing the alcohol if present by evaporation at below 45‹C, salting out protein, extracting the precipitate with glacial acetic acid and obtaining two fractions from the extract by repeated precipitation with a) acetone and b) petroleum ether/ether. The fractions may be mixed and administered by injection in physiological saline.
