Abstract

1319152 Regulating I.C. engine fuel injection; spray carburetters NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 20 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 49679/70 Heading F1B [Also in Division G1] In an I.C. engine fuel supply system, the fuel supply is shut-off when the engine speed reaches a first predetermined value, and the supply is restored when the engine speed falls to a second predetermined value below the first value. As shown, in a fuel injection system, pulses triggered by engine rotation are applied to an anti-overrun device 10 which then provides a D.C. voltage representing engine speed which is compared with a threshold value. When the engine speed reaches the first predetermined value the injection valve actuation circuit 23, Fig. 2 (not shown), is rendered inoperative. The device 10 may also. be applied to a carburetter type fuel supply system, Fig. 5 (not shown). The device 10, Fig.3 (not shown), includes a flip-flop which changes state when the engine speed reaches the first predetermined value and returns to its other state to restart fuel supply when the engine speed decreases to a value lower than said predetermined value.
