Abstract

1317855 Stud and socket fastenings SEALECTRO CORP 17 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 28535/71 Heading E2B [Also in Division H2] A fastening comprises a member 1, Fig. 1, which has a flat 2 formed thereon and is received in an aperture 6 of a member 7. Relative rotation of the members 1 and 7 by a tool 4, having serrations 5, effects fastening thereof, a groove 27, Fig. 4, being formed in the member 1 by the edge of the aperture 6. A flange of the member 1 serves as a guide for the formation of the groove 27 and prevents the member from passing through the aperture 6 in the member 7. The member 1 may be provided with a notch 16, Fig. 7, which is engageable by a pin 13, Fig. 6, of a tool 12 and may be provided with a cam surface comprising a portion 20, Fig. 9, and an inclined surface 21. The cam surface urges the members 1 and 7 together when relative rotation takes place. Various tools for effecting the relative rotation of the members 1 and 7 are described in the specification and are shown in the drawings.
