Abstract
1315926 Moving loads in vehicles S DUSZKA 8 Feb 1972 5732/72 Heading B8E Goods are moved within a vehicle 10, Fig. 1, by platforms 24 supported for vertical movement on trolleys 22, Fig. 2, by screw and nut devices 35, 34. The trolleys are moved longitudinally of the vehicle by chains 19 which pass round sprockets 20, 21, driven through a clutch 39 by a motor M. The screw 35 is driven by a sprocket 52 when solenoids 53 are energized to move arms 54 so that pulleys 56 push a chain 58 of the chain 47 into engagement with the sprocket 52. Sprockets 46, 48 which drive the chain 47 are driven by the motor M through a clutch 44. Engagement of the clutch operates a switch 63 to energize solenoids 53. The clutches may be solenoid operated instead of manually operated. All the operations are controlled by push buttons from panels 43, Fig. 1. Fig. 10 shows an embodiment in which the chain 58 is pushed into engagement with the sprocket 52 by pulleys 61, 62 moved by a solenoid 53. Rollers 31, Fig. 1 are provided at the rear of the vehicle.
