Abstract

1315788 Moulding decorative panels HODGES CHEMICALS CO 25 Oct 1971 [23 Oct 1970] 49482/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division E1] Decorative panels are formed by partially filling a mould with tree branches and limbs, pouring a plastics resin into the mould to encase the branches and limbs and solidifying the resin, and slicing through the moulding into sections, preferably either parallel or perpendicular to the length of the branches and limbs. The resin may be thermoplastic but is preferably thermosetting and may be: a polyester, an epoxy, polyurethane, silicone or polystyrene. It is also preferably transparent. The sections may be polished and/or may be applied to a plywood backing.
