Abstract

1315209 Electric motors OLYMPUS OPTICAL CO Ltd 7 May 1970 [10 May 1969] 21982/70 Heading H2A A device for reducing electromagnetic noise generated by a D.C. electric motor employed in an appliance such as a tape recorder comprises a sinuous conductor 4 fixed on a sheet 3 of insulating material and connected in one or each input lead to the motor from the power supply 6. The conducting strips 4a, 4b are attached by a bonding or an evaporative technique to the sheet 3 which in Fig. 3 is wrapped around the outer casing of the electric motor 1. It is stated that the noise level decreases as the length of the sinuous conductor increases. In further embodiments the conductors may be located inside the easing of the D.C. motor (Fig. 10, not shown) or attached to one end surface of the electric motor (Fig. 11, not shown), and further examples of sinuous patterns are given.
