Abstract

1315200 Pinless hinge AUPING NV 16 July 1970 34491/70 Heading E2F A hinge assembly pivotally connects a hollow tubular member to a support member, the tubular member having a rectangular -crosssection and the hinge assembly comprising two members, the first of which is attached to the support and has a flat surface, the second member being attached to the tubular member by means of a block-like portion which fits tightly inside the open end of the tubular member and having a flat surface which cooperates with the flat surface of the first member by means of a projection on one flat surface and a semicircular groove in the other. An extension of one side wall of the tubular member forms retaining means holding the two parts of the hinge assembly together and the angle through which pivoting is permitted is restricted to less than 90‹. In the figure, blocks 1 and 3 each have a part 4, 5 adapted to fit tightly into the end of a hollow tubular member. An extension 6, 7 from the part 4, 5 carries a projection 8, 9 which fits slidingly into semi circular groove 13, 14 on block 2 which is attached by means of flange 12 to a support member. Pivoting of more than 90‹ is prevented by means of a stay (20) (Fig. 2, not shown) extending between the support member and the hollow tubular member.
