Abstract

1315006 Liquid ring pumps NASH ENG CO 8 May 1970 [9 May 1969] 22411/70 Addition to 1255169 Heading F1C A liquid-ring pump having a shaft with a hollow rotor 25 at one end thereof co-operating with a stationary port member, comprises a first housing part 14 enclosing the rotor and mounted to a cover 26 formed with the port member, and a second housing part 12 extending over the shaft and mounted to the first housing part. Each part 14, 12 has a shaft bearing support surface 18, 20 at one end. At least one of the joints between the parts 12, 14 and cover 26 is of rabbeted form. Each part 12, 14 is such that the jointing and shaft bearing support surfaces thereof are machinable in a single set-up. A shim 30 enables a suitable axial position of the rotor to be selected.
