Abstract

1313987 Spirit levels MESSWERKZEUG-KG GUSTAV ULLRICH 10 Feb 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 6354/72 Heading G1F A spirit level comprising a bubble chamber rotatably mounted relative to a body member 3 of the level is provided with a generally circular socket 2 in which a mount 1 for the bubble chamber is arranged, the socket being provided with one or more axially extending grooves 12 which, during rotation of the mount 1 in the socket 2, are able to collect any particles of dirt occurring between the socket 2 and the mount 1. The grooves 12 may be provided with lips engaging the mount 1, such lips being integral with the socket or being formed as part of resilient channel-shaped members Fig.3, (not shown), recessed into the socket. The mount 1 and socket 2 may have co-operating frusto-conical surfaces which are biassed into engagement by a spring 9 arranged between a ring 6 attached to the mount 1 and the bottom 8 of a recess 7 in the level body 3.
