Abstract

1313986 Coating apparatus; spraying fusible materials DONETSKY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT CHERNOI METALLURGII 21 Jan 1972 2939/72 Headings B2L and B2F [Also in Division F4] Pulverent refractory material such as magnesite is applied in a flame environment by means of a lance 1 bent at its discharge end as shown in the figure in such a way that the heated refractory material is ejected tangentially of the convertor, lining to be coated. The nozzle 8 is located at right angles to the end of the lance and the second bend in the lance is made in the range 15-900. The lance is located on a self-propelled vehicle 3 and is rotatable and reciprocable relative to the convertor 14. The lance comprises four co-axial tubes one of which introduces pulverent magnesite and pulverent fuel in the form of coke, the second introduces oxygen and the third and fourth incoming and outgoing cooling water respectively.
