Abstract

1313916 Degassing viscous liquids AGFA GEVAERT AG 8 Sept 1970 [13 Sept 1969] 42889/70 Heading B1M Viscous emulsion to be degassed is sucked up conduit 7 past ball valve 8 by vacuum applied through valve 34 to tank 1 and flows as a thin layer down conical surface 24. When the liquid level reaches upper sensor 31 (on the left in the figure), valve 34 operates to connect tank 1 to the atmosphere, whereupon degassed liquid passes out via ball valve 13. Ultrasonic generators 23 pass waves at 20 kilocycles per second through the liquid in the tank. When the liquid level reaches the foot of lower sensor 31, (on the right in the figure), valve 34 operates to connect tank 1 to vacuum so that liquid is again drawn through conduit 7.
