Abstract

1312257 Wire fencing J B CORRIE & CO Ltd and A G CORRIE 15 July 1970 [24 July 1969] 37343/69 Heading EIB [Also in Division F2] Wire fencing comprises a plurality of plastics coated wires passing through posts 12 and being secured thereto at one end by anchors 15 and at the other end by tensioning devices 16, the anchors and the devices having a bonded coating of plastics. Plastics sleeves 21 are provided where the wires pass through the posts. The tensioning devices each comprises a sheet metal frame with a malleable steel cylindrical drum rotatably mounted therein and having a steel ratchet with a floating pawl at one end and a square cross-section portion at the other, the end of the wire being threaded through a hole in the drum. Each anchor comprises a cylindrical drum with a diametrical hole therethrough and a square end plate at each end. Wooden posts may be replaced by angle iron posts having a bonded plastics coating, the wires passing through plastics bushes. Droppers and line posts are provided. Wires are secured to wooden line posts by stainless steel staples and to coated angle iron line posts by U- section plastics coated wire clips, or they may pass through holes therein.
