Abstract

1311922 Gauging FRIEDRICH DECKEL PRAZISIONS MECHANIK & MASCHINENBAU 15 April 1970 [21 April 1969] 18074/70 Heading B3C [Also in Division G1] A centring gauge comprises a dial gauge 16 in a holder 10, a feeler lever 34, 40 mounted in a member 32 attachable to holder 10, and transmission means for transmitting movements of the feeler lever to the dial gauge. Holder 10 includes a glass tube having part 22 fixed thereto at its lower end, the dial gauge being mounted in bearings 20 and prevented from rotation with holder 10 by conventional magnetic means. Member 32 is attached to part 22 by screw threads and feeler lever 34 is rotatably attached to member 32 (Fig. 3, not shown). Lever 36 is attached to the shaft of lever 34 by screws 46 so that its angular position relative to lever 34 may be adjusted. One end of lever 36 is biased towards part of member 32 forming a stop by spring 48, which spring reinforces the bias spring of the dial gauge and may be rendered inoperative by turning out of engagement with lever 36. The other end of lever 36 carries a leaf spring 54 engaging a further pivoted lever 38 which in turn engages a member 28 to operate the dial gauge. Member 28 has a ball at each end to co-operate with cavities in lever 38 and the dial gauge stem (Fig. 5) and also has a disc 30 which engages a flange on part 22 to retain member 28 with the dial gauge. In Fig. 7, an extension comprising an outer tube 66 and a transmission rod 78 is interposed between the holder 10 and member 32. At its upper end, rod 78 has a plug 80 provided with a conical centring hole which co-operate with a cone on part 28 (Fig. 8). The upper end of part 28 is flat and co-operates with a ball 92 disposed in a cavity in the end of the dial gauge stem. The lower end of rod 78 also has a plug which has a flat lower end engaging a ball disposed in a cavity in lever 38 (Fig. 9, not shown). Rod 78 may be solid and may be provided with flanges at its ends which co-operate with the ends of tube 66 to limit axial movement of the rod (Fig. 6, not shown).
