Abstract

1311294 Mixed metal powders LE NICKEL 28 July 1970 [12 Aug 1969] 36373/70 Heading C7D A homogenous powder containing two or more metals is produced by preparing a salt solution containing ions of the metal, introducing a powder of at least one metal more electro-negative than the metals, the size of the powder being such as to permit complete cementation, agitating until cementation is complete and separating the powder from the solution. The metals may be two or all of copper, nickel and iron. The powder may be aluminium, in which case an activating agent to remove surface alumina may be added, such as hydrochloric acid or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chloride. The solution may be applied, and may be of sulphates and/or chlorides.
