Abstract
1310950 Facsimile apparatus AGFAGEVAERT AG 24 June 1970 [10 July 1969] 305881/70 Heading H4F An electrostatic charge image is produced on a recording material 19 on a conductive support 20 by means of a linear array of elements that control the amount of corona discharge from discharge wire 14 which reaches the recording material, the linear array of control elements being formed by an insulating plate having a line of holes 18 therethrough with its surface facing the discharge wire coated with a continuous conductive coating 17 and its other surface coated sround each hole with a conductive coating in the form of parallel strips. A voltage U s is applied between the support 20 and the conductive coating 17 via metal casing 15, the discharge wire being suspended by insulating attachments. The video signals produced by a line of photoconductive cells past which an original document is linearly moved are applied to the parallel strips, the recording material 19 being likewise linearly moved past the control elements. Preferably the linear array of photoconductive cells and control elements are arranged obliquely to the direction of movement of the original document and recording material. Several linear arrays may be staggered one behind the other. The recording material may comprise conductive paper coated with insulating plastics, e.g. polyester, polystyrene or polyethylene.
