Abstract

1309585 Feeding sheets SUNDS AB 26 June 1970 [27 June 1969] 31098/70 Heading B8R Sheets such as carton blanks are separated from the bottom of a pile 3, Figs. 1 and 2, in a magazine including a stationary front abutment 6, a support beam 6 and an adjustable rear abutment 7, and fed to feed rollers 23, 24 by one or more separators in the form of teeth 34 comprising leaf springs supported on links 33, which teeth engage the rear edge of the lowest sheet. The links 33 are reciprocated in a forwardly and downwardly sloping table 9 by a rock-shaft 16 oscillated by a drive shaft 18 connected to the drive of a sheet handling machine, through a gear-box 12. The links 33 are pivotally mounted on pins 31 on side pieces 30 which slide in grooves formed by plates 28, 29 arranged on the table. The gear-box, shaft 16, abutment 7 and separators form a unit which is adjustable forwardly and rearwardly according to the size of the sheets. The sheet feed can be interrupted by raising the rear edge of the pile clear of the teeth by thrust rods 39 raised manually or by pneumatic means.
